Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

CECOA social responsibility practices, in its different forms, are intended to improve the quality of life and well-being of its employees, customers, suppliers, partners and the community in general.

Several initiatives and practices are implemented which stands out:

  • Since 2004 CECOA invests in R&D and Innovation projects in the CSR area, bringing knowledge and best practices for CECOA itself but also to CECOA partners through training / consultancy and other knowledge and good practices dissemination initiatives (conferences, seminars, study visits, development of studies and case studies, production of pedagogical videos);
  • CECOA subscribes, since 2005, the Code of Ethics for the Commerce and Services, an initiative from the Portuguese Commerce and Services Confederation;
  • CECOA is, since February 2010, an active member of the national network RSO PT, a corporate social responsibility network;

Workplace CSR Dimension:

  • Human Capital Development Policy associated with performance evaluation. Recently some measures were launched at the level of Human Resource management and at the level of work-life balance policies, including:
    • Flexible and different work schedules;

This initiative follows an innovative methodology focused on the promotion of digital literacy among elderly population, in which young CECOA trainees teach (and learn) seniors from those two organisations, using a different method.

  • Replacing the existing lighting system by a low consumption lighting system;
